Either You Have It Or You Don’t

Every little boy dreams about growing up and becoming a star in the NFL. For some their dream will come true. But for most, it will always remain a dream.
A lot of people may think that all you have to do to become an NFL football player is to be really athletic but there are several things besides that that have to happen. Yes, being athletic is a key part but it’s not the only thing you need to have. First, you have to not be afraid to hit people hard and possibly get injured. Then, you got to start your football career in high school. From there, if you are good enough and get scouted, you will go play for a college. The college you end up playing for will play a big factor on if you can make it to the professionals or not. If you go to a D3 college or even a D2 college, your chances of getting drafted to the NFL are way lower than if you go to a D1 college. Even if you do go to a D1 college, you’re not guaranteed to make it. You still have to have really good seasons with really good stats and get scouted by NFL teams. Then and only then do you have a chance to make it to the pros.
As you can see from this, there are a lot of things that have to happen for you to become a professional football player. Some people have what it takes in their blood and some people don’t.

The Offseason

Now that the Super Bowl is over, the offseason has started. This is the time that teams make changes and this is also the time for the big draft of college football players.
So far this offseason, there have been several coaches that have lost their jobs. Personally I think this isn’t that big of a deal for them because even if they don’t get the head coach job at another team, they are almost guarenteed a coordinator spot somewhere. One of the biggest new coaches that got hired was the former Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly. I was surprised when I heard that he was going to leave the Ducks and go to the pros since his college team was so good.
I can wait for the NFL draft to come around as I’m sure a lot of other people are too. I like to watch what player gets drafted to what team, especially to my Broncos! Maybe the Chiefs will be able to get some more good players out of the draft and actually have a winning record next season. I get the privaledge of going and getting to see the Chiefs during training camp since their training camp is in St. Joseph, MO which is about 7 miles from where I live.
This offseason will be just as exciting as previous offseasons and I can’t wait for the draft to come.

The Perspectives of Football

Most people have the same perspective on football. Millions of people love to watch football and spend millions of dollars on football apparel and miscellaneous stuff tied to football. However there are still a few of those people who don’t like football and don’t watch it. The only thing I would tell them is that they are missing out on some awesome stuff. But for all of those people that absolutely love football, they most likely see football in the same way.
People who just watch football see it as a sport where men in pads try to move a ball to the other end of the field and score, blazing a trail through the other team. We all see the green grass of the field, all of the different uniforms, and all of the bad calls by the refs. But in the end, we all have the same perspective on football when we watch it.
The players, however, have a different perspective on it. Playing football is their job. Not all football players in the NFL graduated from college with a diploma so football is all they have to earn money. They won’t be able to go out in the world and get a good paying job since they never graduated from college. Not all players are like this. Some actually graduate from college and go out and get a good job when they are done playing. But at the time when they are playing, that is their job.

Love The Classics Man!

Who doesn’t like classics? Classic music, classic cars, classic books, and classic football games are only a few things that people like of classics. There are so many classic football games that if I were to talk about all of them, then this blog could be turned into a book.
Not only are there classic football games, but there are also classic football players that make the classic games. Some examples are Joe Montana and John Elway. These two guys are two of the greats of football. They will be known as legends and will never be forgotten. Because of this, you can conclude that they had many classic games. The easiest games to think of that are classics with these two men are their games in Super Bowls. Now lets be honest, every Super Bowl is a classic. But, the Super Bowls that these guys were in will probably never be forgotten unlike some other Super Bowls that just weren’t as exciting as the Super Bowls these two were in.
Joe Montana and John Elway are only two guys out of many that make up the tens of hundreds of classic games of football.

Privacy? What Privacy?

Everybody loves having their privacy. I know I do. The last thing I want to have happen is have something embarrassing or bad that I have done to get out and everybody know about it. You may think that professional football players may have more privacy than we do but that is not even close to the truth. They probably have almost no privacy at all.
Professional football players have the worst privacy issues because if something gets out about something they did, everybody is going to know about it because reporters are going to put it on the news. One example is of the thing Brett Favre did. Now if you don’t know what he did then I don’t know where you have been because it was all over the place. A more recent event is of Manti Te’o. Even though he isn’t a professional football player yet, his privacy is almost nonexistant. There are several other examples of football players that have had their privacy taken away from them from some of the things that they have done. My advice for football players is to just not do anything stupid because you know that it is going to get out and you will either be hated or be the laughing stock of the nation.

That Is Just Injustice

They had no idea what was going on

What do you think of when you here the word injustice? Some people may think about something that isn’t right and some people may think of courts and the law. Well, injustice isn’t just about the law. It can apply to many things in life. One of those things is football.
There are several things that people can say are injustice in football but the first thing that comes to my mind is the refs. Now don’t get me wrong, most of the time the refs are good and fair and get penalties correct, but sometimes they get the call all wrong. This is especially true when the replacement refs were officiating. There were so many bad calls it wasn’t even funny. There was a whole bunch of injustice when they were on the field. Thankfully, we got the professional refs back and things got a whole lot better. There are still a few bad calls every once and awhile, but for the most part, the refs call a fair game. Now we just have to worry about the lights going out!

Being Raised Into A Star

Every parent wishes that their kid or kids grow up and become stars. It doesn’t matter what their kid becomes a star in, they just hope and wish the best for their kids. This is kind of how one of the Super Bowl commercials was. The Budweiser commercial that had the clydesdale being raised by the man and then sending the horse off in a Budweiser truck sent this message. At the end of the commercial when the clydesdale was in a parade and saw the man that had raised it and then went running after him is like a kid running back to his or her parents and thanking them for raising him or her.
This concept applies to football too. Every parent of a NFL football player is proud of their kid and always loves the moment when the player comes up to his parents and thanks them for raising him. The commercial was almost like a kid growing up. The man raised his horse up just like parents raise their children. Then when the horse got all grown up, it moved on to the real world and got a “job” just like kids do. Finally when the horse made it to the “big leagues,” it saw the man that raised him and ran after him to reunite with him just like a kid would do if he or she saw their parents.
